Our Mission

PADCHEK was invented by PADTEST to detect Peripheral Artery Disease (P.A.D.). PADCHEK is ideal for doctors that prefer to lease rather than own an Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) measurement device, eliminating up-front expenditures.

Despite its seriousness and prevalence, P.A.D. is often undiagnosed, undertreated, and unknown to most Americans. P.A.D. affects more than 12% of the U.S. population over age 65 yet only 6.8% of the Medicare population received treatment for P.A.D. in 2008. With risk factors such as diabetes, obesity, and hypertension on the rise, the prevalence of P.A.D. is growing at double-digit rates annually. Over $4 billion was spent on P.A.D.-related treatment in 2008 and 88% of this total was for inpatient care.

PADCHEK is on a mission to increase public awareness of P.A.D. amongst physicians and the public so that the roughly 12 million Americans with this disease will have the opportunity for early diagnosis and treatment. Early detection of P.A.D. can save lives by reducing severe cardiovascular events that can lead to disability, amputation, heart attack, stroke, or death.
